It’s an exciting sight to see. “Sold” signs keep going up in our beautiful Eastside neighborhoods as buyers are quickly snapping up amazing homes from an incredibly limited inventory. Encouraged by continued record-low mortgage interest rates, rising rents, and gradually increasing home prices, buyers are tilting the demand for homes to tower over the supply.
Statistics just released by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service confirm this lopsided housing market in King County. Simply stated, there are more buyers than sellers. While the lack of inventory is frustrating and does keep a lid on sales, we’re still experiencing the best year for sales volume since the real-estate bust in 2008, as cited in the NWMLS report. Just think how robust sales activity would be if more homes were on the market!
