We live in the suburb of the largest city in the Pacific Northwest — known as the "Emerald City," Seattle is a major gateway for trade with Asia, a hotbed for startup businesses, and takes pride in being known for its heavy coffee consumption, a reputation I totally support.
This summer Seattle became known for one more attraction, which has been a magnet for locals and tourists alike. The Great Wheel opened on Pier 57, a Ferris wheel standing 175-feet tall as one of the largest of its kind in the country. At its highest point, the wheel is about 200 feet above Elliott Bay and extends nearly 40 feet over the water.
Climb into one of the 42 climate-controlled and completely enclosed gondolas which each seat six people for a 12-minute view of our city skyline and surrounding area, as well as our incredible surrounding mountains. You'll feel on vacation right here at home!
